Entry 3: I Found My Lane.

Come sit with me again. It's the first of November, two months left in 2026, and I'm deep in 2027 planning.

This week, a fellow agent, one of the leaders among Alberta's top teams and top agents, said something to me I haven't stopped thinking about.

"With Instructor of the Year, it sounds like you found your lane."

I sat with that. Because they were right. And because it made me look back at how I got here.

Where I was

For a long time, I measured my growth by my own production. My listings. My clients. My numbers. I earned two eXp ICON awards in 2025, and I'm proud of that. I built it as a single parent of two kids, blending business and family on purpose, not by accident.

But somewhere along the way, I noticed what lit me up most wasn't my own deals. It was the moment another agent got it. When a system clicked for them. When they walked into a conversation knowing exactly what to say. When they stopped running their business from memory and started running it on structure.

What changed in me

Being named eXp University Instructor of the Year 2026 isn't the extra thing next to my business. It's the signal.

Teaching agents is the lane. Building the structure that helps them grow is the lane. Serving as Chair of eXp Realty Alberta's Agent Advisory Council is part of the same lane: making the rooms agents sit in clearer, more useful and more respectful of their time.

Here's what finding your lane does. It tells you what to say yes to, and what to let go. It turns busy into intentional. I hold myself to that standard now. Intention is easy. Execution is the work.

What I'm building

That's what 2027 planning really is for me. Not a bigger to-do list. A bigger container for other agents to grow in.

A rhythm of meetings and training my agents can count on. Systems that carry the routine so their time goes to people. A community where nobody builds alone.

I'm not building a team around me. I'm building a team around growth. Mine and yours.
